International Missionary Training Network

We are very grateful for prayer, and were particularly conscious of God’s help at the conference in Germany at the beginning of November 2011. As the Director of the International Missionary Training Network (IMTN) of the World Evangelical Alliance Mission Commission had resigned, Ian Benson, as Associate Director, helped lead some demanding meetings with missionary trainers discussing the way forward. We thank God that at the final meeting it was possible to set up a steering committee. The aim is to share training resources, personnel and advice through a worldwide network of missionary trainers and colleges. Ian is secretary of this committee as well as being responsible for the website (www.theimtn.org). By God’s grace, this dovetails perfectly with the ministry of the Missionary Training Service.

With over 200 leaders of missionary work from about 60 countries attending the conference as a whole, it was also an excellent opportunity to make contacts0 for the Evangelical Training Directory project.

Please pray for Ian as he works with the new steering committee of the IMTN, and for God’s help in follow up work from the conference (for example the Evangelical Alliance of Chad would like us to make a website for them which would incorporate a training search page). THANK YOU.

We are very thankful to God for the hard work of all our helpers in the Evangelical Training Directory (www.etdi.org) and for the recent progress. We have just added Swedish, Albanian and Romanian to the other 18 languages and there are over 600 colleges registered. We would like to ask for your help in making this training directory better known in your church among those looking for Christian training. Please tell us if you would like an explanatory leaflet, or if you would like us to send one to anyone else.

We would be grateful for your continuing prayer for more colleges to register and for the Directory to become better known and used.

Now that Ian has a very competent full-time paid assistant (as well as the excellent volunteers), please pray that God will provide the necessary financial support.
